Wedding receptions and private parties
Starting to fill up now for 2013 ( June and August fully booked but we still have available 4th/18th May ,7th/20th July, 14th/21st September and april /october) ring to check availability . Booking now for 2014 too.
Weddings, receptions and parties can be held in the House or in a marquee on the front lawn. The Great Hall of Appuldurcombe House can cope with 100 on round tables or up to 120 on long tables. By using a marquee this can be extended up to 400.
We have two rooms licensed for your wedding ceremony , the Drawing Room which can seat around 80 comfortably ( have squeezed 100 in using smaller folding chairs !) or the Main Hall which is at least twice as big . If you use the main hall for the ceremony then you can get your caterers or wedding decorators to reset the hall for the reception if you are not having a marquee . The whole site is licenced for music and dancing from midday until midnight and for the sale of Alcohol until 12pm . Please note the house is closed to the public on saturday and we only have one wedding at a time !
Weddings can be at any time of year, though early planning will be needed to avoid a clash with our other special events see website for events for the year or give us a ring on 01983840188 ext1 to check . Normal timescale would be from the thursday for arrival of hired equipment,friday for setting up either by yourselves or one of the companies listed below ,saturday wedding and sunday morning clearing up
Please ring to discuss details or come to the shop to look at our book of photos of previous weddings and parties.A non-returnable deposit of £200 is required for a wedding booking plus £50 deposit per holiday cottage if reserved at the same time ,the balance being due a month before .
Price is for hire of empty building , electric and use of the various licenses . Normally from the thursday for arrival of hired equipment,friday for setting up ,saturday wedding and sunday morning clearing up . To this will need to be added hire of furniture,catering,lighting, decoration etc all of which are normally supplied by Coast and Country Marquees even if you do not require a marquee or can be organised by yourselves . For an additional fee the onsite holiday cottages can also be hired for your guests , check availability and prices at holiday cottage pages
Price . will depend on the size of the function ; £1000 plus vat for a wedding of up to 100 Guests using the house only ,£1500 plus vat for a larger wedding with up to 200 Guests using house and a marquee . Please note this price does not include the removal of rubbish .
